Winter Hasn't Left Town

So I got up this morning, looked outside, and the world was pleasant. The ground appeared to be drying and things looked pretty calm out. That was solid. We went out to Carter Park in Bowling Green, Ohio. Myself, Justin Smith, and Justin Gill. Met Pat Burke out there. Basically it was all to get a practice round in for the Falcon Thaw tomorrow morning. When we teed off there was a very light breeze and the ground appeared to be drying.

Scratch that.

By the time we hit hole… Continue

Best. Round. EVER.

On Saturday afternoon I played on the best card I've ever played on. Bar none. It was more exciting than any round thus far in my short discing lifespan. It was filled with huge putts, huge saves, and all around incredibly exciting golf. The best part was the generally great attitude by all of the guys on the card. I played the second round of the March Madness C-Tier at the Brent Hambrick Memorial DGC in Columbus, Ohio with Aaron Trimmer, Jon Allen, and Ryan Bohardt. Ryan wasn't a part of the… Continue

Losing and More Losing

So this weekend was kind of all about losing. It definitely didn't go all that amazing for me on the whole. I played at the Crosstown Classic in Royal Oak, Michigan. It is an unsanctioned tournament that usually takes place at both Wagner & Starr Park but due to flooding and freezing Starr was unplayable so it was two rounds at Wagner. I'd never played the course before, and playing it blind went surprisingly well as I shot a 4 under 50 and sat two strokes behind Brad Frase for first, two… Continue

Suddenly I'm Bagging...

So in January I played an unsanctioned tournament at the Hambrick Memorial Course in Columbus, Ohio. I played in the Open Division and thanks to a ridiculous first round I tied for 1st with Geoff Bennett before losing in a three hole playoff. I'm going back to that same course, in all likelihood on March 15 to play the March Madness C-Tier. Due to the cost of the Open Division at this lil C-Tier ($57) I will be playing Advanced ($37). There's been a minor tiff on the Columbus boards about it.… Continue

Can't Complain `Bout Cash...

I suppose I can't complain about cash, but what a horrible pair of rounds today. I'm honestly pretty shocked that I came away from today's unsanctioned March Meltdown with last cash. I finished behind, in order: Mark Ellis, Mike Raley, Brooke Plantz, and Trevor Thorpe. During the first round I had a stretch where I went 5-5-4-4 (to add insult to injury my worn old jeans tore in the crotch on the fourth hole of that string, I had to stop and laugh at myself when it happened, I think that… Continue
