In my house Disc Golf and the PDGA are four letter words not to be uttered. Not my rules but after my family being subjected to a whole slew of crap from disc golfers it makes sense. Simply put not too many problems until I joined the local dg club which was run unfortunately by some that liked the nose candy. Not my cup of tea, and at that time I was a college student and a nice target for the criminally inclined. Why this crap has continued for 20 years should be asked of other… Continue

You're either part of the solution or you're part of the problem. Too bad there is no option for not being part of the solution and not being part of the problem. Boiling things down to simplistic colloquial phrases doesn't always work as a motivational tool. I'll choose option C, please.

Calgon take me away. Got a better place to live and play DG. I'm interested. Huntsville, great place to live...except the people are nuts.

Raked the chains on Hole #9 at Brahan Springs with a new mako. Did not stick, unfortunately, but it is a good disc for this 198ft hole.
Also, finished up an initial telephone interview for a job outside Huntsville.

I don't know if you are lucky enough to play DG in a town that does not have 2 or more feuding DG clubs and if you do then you probably have seen DG suffer greatly. Courses don't get taken care of because people are too busy plotting their next move to screw over the other club and with all of the BS flying around, you can't really trust anyone. All about a game, no less.
The club that I am affiliated with chose to try to rise above this by moving weekly leagues around, not run… Continue

I run a weekly event for the local club and have not had really any issues until this past week when I had to deal with some casuals (golf bags full of discs) throwing discs at us. Our group started on hole 1 and as we were walking after our drives when another group of 3 individuals came up behind us. As we were making our second shots a disc flew over our heads and landed about 15 feet away. Now, I have been playing this sport for quite some time and I have yet to hear any valid reason for… Continue

ACED Hole #17 at Brahan Springs on 5/13/09. I took the wide hyzer route and my champ destroyer skipped in. WooHoo. Last year I was using a Star Destroyer and did the same exact shot but hit the pole on the skip just underneath the basket. I'm really liking these Champ Destroyers, they get a little more altitude on the skip. This last ACE brings be 20 now, WooHoo.

Aced hole #8 at Brahan Springs during the RCCG Tuesday night Pro/Am doubles round. I think this was the first time for me to hit an ace for an Ace Pot. WooHoo. On the next to last hole, my champion destroyer decided to jump up into the basket. There was much rejoicing.

Yes. I have finally taken the plunge and bought my first new disc golf bag since the early 90s. My old Wall City bag was just too small to accommodate a few extra discs I wanted to experiment with on the course and since I'm older now, I need to carry more water for those long courses. But, I gotta say that the old Wall City bag held up great with no rips or zippers getting caught or anything like that.
Now, I am the proud owner of a Discarrier bag. The golf bag is huge and with a… Continue

Yes, I am now Buzzzless.
I experimented some with Discraft's Buzzz for a little while and have now decided to remove them from my DG bag. I've replaced one with a Roc and another with a new Kite from Innova. The Kite is what I have been looking for. It is kinda like a slightly faster, smaller diameter Stingray. I also added a Skeeter but like the Kite better so far.
On another subject, I have decided to run as an officer in the upcoming elections for the local club. The… Continue

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of those, in this wonderful loving disc golf family of ours that has helped me over the years. I was part of a local disc golf club, a lifetime member no less, years ago, before I decided to take a break from disc golf and more importantly the social circle that supported it. This social circle was at the heart of why I stopped playing disc golf and now it is the same group that is heading up the local club or at least one faction. I got tired of… Continue

Over the last couple of months, I have lost some distance and control on my drives and especially my Roc shots. They were not going as far as before and were not turning-up as much as I thought they should be. I haven't been playing much DG the last couple of months (maybe once a week at best) due to family issues and I thought that might have something to do with having a hard time getting my distance.
A couple of months ago I was getting about 430' on my good drives and I was… Continue
