The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

In the style of Christopher Guest, who brought you "Best in Show," "Spinal Tap," and more. "Frolf the movie" is a mocumentary that explores the lives of competing players the week prior to a disc golf tournament. Every character in this movie represents people that I have come across in the 15 years of playing ( 7 years competing.) There are beginners, pros, amateurs, frat boys, hippies, tourists and more. After years of dedication to the sport it is time for a small tribute, or "roast" if you will. "Nice Up" Productions gives you "FROLF the movie!"

I understand and appreciate the flattery/mocking concept. My nickname is Duh; people who know me, know it's not an insult- I live up to the name. I don't have blonde moments, I have duh moments-its funny.
But the people who don't know me often get the wrong idea about my nickname, just like I think people will about your movie. I think you can portray the good times to be had in this sport without making us look like complete goofballs. There have been a few attempts at a disc golf movie, and I'm always disappointed. Who's going to take this sport seriously if we only reinforce the hippie perspective?
I know I'm overcriticizing, please don't take it personal. I look forward to seeing the whole movie. Best of luck!

Yes, the end of may. As for the final product, I will let you know how to get a copy when I am closer to that date. Where do you live. Perhaps I can find a festival in your area to enter the film in, then you could watch it on the big screen.

Unfortunately I have no advice on the distribution front. If you need landscaping or horticulture advice I'm your guy. Film distribution not so much. I was asking more for my own interest, as in how do I get a copy when it's finished? Is May still your target date for completion?

Thanks for checking out the site. My idea is to bring disc golf to the masses. I am naming it Frolf for the comedic value of the word "frolf." Also, I don't want to mock the professional disc golf association. The title is also a working title, I am leaning towards the final film to be named "The Ring of Chains."
Brian, I have the film ebntered into several film festivals, but I am still looking for the proper distribution. I would love some advice if you have any to give.
DuH--- I find the highest form of flattery to be mocking. If people laugh at our sport today, it may entice them to play the sport tomorrow!
Thanks guys, it is very encouraging to have disc golfers involved in this feature!

I like the 2nd trailer. It puts disc golf in a better light and looks more professional.
The first one is too goofy. It seems like its making fun of us/ the game.
Looks like the movie will be entertaining, especially for those who have played before and know how much fun it is. I would enjoy it, but it might give the wrong impression to others.

I'm not a big fan of when people refer to disc golf as Frolf but from your trailer it looks like you'll be addressing this. Trailers look good. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. How are you planning on distributing this?
