The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I have a good friend i play with alot that has a really bad temper .he has only been playing a short time and has gotten really good but playing with him at times really sucks he kicks his bag ,drops the f bomb really loud and generally gets pissy when he manages to hit a tree in a fricking forest.I have spoken to him a few times about it ,but old and bad habits die hard.i played a round with him in a tourney with him a few weeks back and have been to funner funerals.i hate seeing people go tilt and genarally try to be supportive but when do you draw the line and start courtesy violation stroking a person ,his tantrums have added strokes to my game just from my focus being shattered with a f bomb or a bag being kicked because he missed a 30 ft running jump putt.like i said at the beginning he's a good friend and i love playing golf with the guy who plays for the love of the game not the guy who gets pissed because his fricking pdga rating is gonna go down because he hit a tree.he will read this tommorow so any anger management advice anyone has will be greatly appreciated .otherwise i will be forced to drive my destroyer into his melon the next time he has a fit about a missed putt..haha...thanks

That is a pisser. Your friend isn't going to get better getting mad. He needs to practice putting some more first of all. 30 feet is a drop in (jk jk) I still get pissed sometimes. The only way I'm gonna save that bad drive though is by throwing a really sweet throw. Being mad about the previous shot puts you further from being in the basket. One throw at a time, one hole at a time. Just being honest. If I start messing up, I just go to a disc I know better than any other disc in my bag (my favorite disc, a Z Buzzz). Throwing it re-calibrates my "touch" and usually gets me back on track..

I had a friend that was like this thhe best thing to do is to tell to stop being a d head and you cant make every 30 footer and park it under the basket everytime if it doesn't get better stop playing with him
