The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
I've never really been a true traditionalist when it comes do disc. I just play, hopefully try to get better, and try to play courses when the weather and the time permits.
The last two years has been quite different. There are a lot of folks in the amateur wrestling world that throw disc. One of which is two-time NCAA champion Ben Askren -- me and a buddy played a round in Virginia Beach (Pungo course) last year and now this year -- it was another All-American that joined the fray.
Ben was up for an ESPY Award last year -- so you might know him from his giant white-boy afro.
Played my home course in Newport News the last two days, weather was great and having not played the course in a while, it was just satisfying to be there. Next time I play the whites, I'll be under par. I used to be under par religiously there, then moved, stopped playing, started playing again and found myself back to the realm of "sucking royally."
Long story short ... the first short blog here isn't really about tradition at all. Just a rant to get things started.
