I started feeling a bit cagey this afternoon and decided to head up to Terrace Creek to play 18. It was real windy today with temps in the upper 40s. I played solo until I got to the ninth hole where I caught up with Jub Jub and Jim O'Connor so I joined them for the second half of the round. Even though the skies were cloudy and the wind was gusting there were quite a few people out on the course. I tried to play a 'smart' round and avoid lots of extra strokes by trying to go for everything. I ended up with three birds (5, 12 & 15) and five boges (2,9, 10, 13 & 16). Not great golf but then again I was feeling fairly solid and two over isn't too bad out there. Mainly I just need to get control of those bogies by making better upshots. Other than a few muddy spots in the usual places the course was looking quite nice.

Haha, I played down at SeaTac today but know exactly what you mean about the wind. Yesterday at doubles at Terrace, I managed to pull off a throw I didn't even know was possible. Threw a champ starfire sidearm on 17 in a huge headwind, not a perfect throw, but a clean release. It flew about 200', then got hit by a gust, rose up a good 50' like it was on an elevator, turned the disc over, then kept turning it over until it was literally upside down, cruised for a little while, and then flipped over the rest of the way and dropped straight down like a tomahawk. Miraculously, it was actually a salvageable lie, but I'm glad I had a partner. We dubbed it the "Twist & Dump", not a shot I'd recommend pulling out in a tournament, but entertaining for the rest of your card for sure!

Windy golf sure can add some strokes to your score, but I'd take it over rainy golf any time, and especially this time of year.
