The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
After tying for 8th in my first tournament as an Intermediate, I felt good. Not because I played well but because I had fun. And in the end that is what disc golf is all about. If you are getting angry over little things, your priorities might not be in order. I missed four putts inside 20 feet during the last round. Oh well. It just lets me know that there are parts of my game that need work an I readily admit that. I'm only human. I watched Doss, Jenkins, Dorius and Barsby miss similar putts during last year's Team Tournament in San Diego. After Jenkins missed a putt on hole 7, it was apparent that it didn't faze him because he went on to Ace the next hole.
It was fun watching the Final 9 and seeing so many great shots (and not so great ones [hole 6 drives]) by some talented players. Plus be able to root for someone from SD made it that much better. KG played some good golf even though he's slightly injured. His drive on the second hole of the final 9 (hole 3) was ridiculous. The only complaint I'd have about this tournament is the payout in raffle tickets. It seems wrong to me that a third or fourth place finisher in a higher division can walk away with nothing while someone who finished ninth or tenth can walk away with their arms full. Oh well, it's over now. Moving along.
Next up are the monthlies at Morley (23rd) and Sun Valley (24th) and the San Marcos Ice Bowl (24th) in less than two weeks. What a weekend it will be.
