The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

So, this morning we did the random thing on the tosses for yesterday's Ring of Fire. A fellow named Eric Sears won, so we added his name to the list of people Sheila was going to mail discs out to today. (She mailed out 6 today.)

Then Sheila instant-messages me in the afternoon that we had just gotten a package at home from . . . Eric Sears!

It turns out that Eric had found a disc that Ben had lost on his current trip around the United States and mailed it to us in Ann Arbor.

So he wins the toss, totally randomly, and we get the package from him with Ben's returned disc later the same day. Is that weird, or what?

Thanks, Eric!

I think many people's lives are not crammed full with meaningful things to do. I find that as I get involved in more interesting and meaningful pursuits, I have less and less time for TV. But I really love the DVR - I can watch Lewis Black and Florida State football games during the random down times I have.

I do click on the videos. The best I've seen lately is the Tina Fey-as-Sarah Palin one; Sheila and I laughed so hard we had tears going down our cheeks.

Frankly, I do not know where people find the time to watch television. My days are crammed full without it.

OK, but do you click on the videos from the Crooks and Liars web site? Jon Stewart is much funnier (and compelling) when you hear his delivery vs. reading the transcript.

BTW, Friends - you didn't miss a whole lot. Seinfeld - you did. MHO

Good, TV is lame, much better use of time to go out and disc.

I've never seen a single episode of Friends or the Seinfeld Show.

True, I am state of the art, bleeding edge with technology adoption - have read four novels in the last week using my new Kindle (eBook Reader) & have been to nearly 700 Web pages during this current work day (my favorite right now) - but I cannot stand to watch television. That means a lot of cultural references are lost on me.

Riz- my dad doesn't even know how to turn a TV on, he won't get that reference.

Are you sure his name isn't really Earl?
