It all starts out with trading my Wednesday shift for Abrahams Monday shift so he can get through his clinical and a job interview, I also get to see Shaq play for the SUNS and go to ultimate practice if the weather turns around. So I work the Monday shift and at the end of the night I take Shannon home, we talk for about a half hour (keep in mind I have a test on Tuesday so I’m keeping track of the time since I still need to finish studying). While there I turn my headlights out so not to wake her family, but I forget to turn them back on as I’m leaving. So I’m driving home after Ohio’s worst storm of the season and low and behold I see the flashing lights of the cop car and instantly it clicks “you forgot to turn on the lights” so now I’m thinking great what a way to spend seventy dollars, I hope he’s a nice guy and doesn’t write me a ticket. I know this routine so I get out my driver’s license and proof of insurance, as I’m waiting for the inevitable, as he walks up to the car I tell him that I have a test in the morning and that I realized that my lights where off as soon as we pulled me over and explained to him why they were off. He checks my information and graciously let’s me go with a warning, after only 20 minutes have passed. Now I’m on my way home again paying close attention to all traffic laws both do to the weather and the recent event. When I come across Ben how is what appears to be sliding backwards toward my car and blocking my exit to the harsh realities of the cram session. I honk at him and he stops, so, now I know he’s not sliding but his cars broke down now I’m already behind an hour but I would want someone to help me out if my car was stoke in the middle of the road. I get out of my car and ask him if he need help and of Corse he does his car is out of gas (thanks for the $3 a gallon GW), so we push his bronco to the side of the icy road and I give him a lift home, He’s happy and I’m behind on my studies but just think if I hadn’t switched shifts with Abraham what would have happened to Ben at 1:15 in the morning of the worst snow storm of the year?
