We went to Timmons to play our regular Tuesday/Thursday round and found that the city has removed the 15th and 16th baskets and closed the fairways. Unless the city straightens out the course I am done with it. The city has modified the course 4 times so that the guy up the hill can annex 4 acres of park property and consider it his own. A judge has ordered him to stop and desist with his harassment of disc golfers and he has been arrested for shooting his pellet gun at disc golfers. Unless the spineless parks director steps up and our useless city council steps in I will never play there again. I sure don't need this crap in a game that I enjoy. I play for the enjoyment and don't need this aggravation.
I told Bill that I didn't want to play at Timmons and asked him to chose either Gower or Holmes to play. He chose Gower and as we headed out Steve pulled in to play with us. So we all headed to Gower and played 2 rounds. Steve left after two rounds and Bill and I played a third round. I was +3, +1, and +1. The wind was brutal while we were playing. Pat Husted pulled in as we were leaving. He was having some vehicle work done across the street and came over to throw while he was waiting.
I plan to attend the city council meeting about Timmons Park on Monday, but I expect the worst from that crowd. The guys in the Upstate Club seem to think that our presence will make a difference - I think they are blowing in the wind.
