The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Today was a day of mixed emotions for me. Some really good things happened - the tee signs for our new disc golf course at Montiel Park showed up, and they are great. If you want top-notch tee signs, John Houck and Circular Productions are a great way to go. The signs are beautiful and we'll have them installed in time for Sunday's Ice Bowl, which is the inaugural event at the new course. I also received a box chock full of minis from Little Flyer today. The minis are a custom stamp that I designed on the quick for the grand opening of the course. Charlie @ Little Flyer did a tremendous job on short notice, and I'm sure the crowd at the ribbon-cutting will be appreciative.

But the day was not without it's bad spots. I had to put down my cat, Charlie. Big deal, some of you might say, it's just a cat. But Charlie was a king among felines - he was 23 years old - human years - when he went on to his maker today. He was my pal for half my life, through nine moves and coast-to-coast, older than my son, more than twice as old as my daughter (but not as old as my Shuttle Puppy), and he stuck with me longer than others in my life. He was a great pal and a great footwarmer on cold nights. He will be missed...

Thats inspiring for me, who's feline friend is approaching 16 next month, that I could enjoy another 7 years with my sweet Panda. I worry too much about him but he's super healthy so far and still moving/jumping great- the vet thought he was 10 years younger! I can't even begin to tell you what I've put him thru, from ex-wife with 2 huge dogs to 20 hours in a van moving across the south. It sounds like you two shared a lot of love and I'm truly sorry for your loss; but if it's any consolation at all your message has brought me tears of happiness (at work too, now people are staring!) just thinking my sweet baby will be with me for that long as well. Thank you!

That's a good, long life for a feline friend.
