The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I played 18 holes at Holmes today and finished at even par. I played the first four holes and ran into Ken and Lynn playing tennis. They said that they'd come over and play a round with me. I finished that round at -1. I hit the basket pole with my tee shot and birdied that hole. I parred everything else. Ken and Lynn were waiting for me at the fist tee box and we played 9 more holes. I started off by hitting a tree and going OB for a double bogey. Then I bogeyed #4 and #5 to go +4. I birdied #6, #7, and #9 to end up +1 for the nine holes and even for the 18. I hadn't played with Ken and Lynn in close to two years, so it was good to play a round with them again.

Bill - I've birdied #9 a few times. I forget if I teed off with a forehand in the past or not, but yesterday I teed off with a thumber and laid it up by the #2 tee box. I had a couple of good tee shots on #6 yesterday too. I hit the basket pole on the fly the first time around and hit right next to it the second time.

Ken - Good round after I left. That left you -2 for those nine holes. You saw me take a bogey on #5 with you two. That hole has given me a hard time lately. I don't know why - it is so short and not hard to play, but I haven't played it well at all. I used to think that I couldn't par #4, but I have parred it quite a bit lately.

Bill - I'm not sure if I will be at that meeting or not. I have something else to do tomorrow, but I may skip it just to see what they have to say. But I don't expect it to be anything that I want to hear.

Without having a forehand, I've never birdied nine there. I should spend some time learning to throw a backhand roller up the hill. Hopefully see you tomorrow at the city council meeting.

We enjoyed playing with you today. We played one more round after you left. Ken said to tell you that he birdied #2, #5 & #7 and bogied #4. We had to deal with a man and his kids playing football in our fairway on #5. On #9 we had people laying in our fairway and a little girl wanted to pick up my disc. Ken gave up trying to finish #9 with the obstacles. Thank you for the photo.
