I called Bill today and he convinced me to play with him at Timmons today. I hadn't played at Timmons since the Queer on the hill finally forced the city to take out much of the course.
I hadn't played at all in 7 weeks and I have had a severe cold for the past 10 days, so I wasn't in very good form. I have also had a pinched nerve in my neck since June and it really weakened my right shoulder. Now is the time to get off my fat duff and start strengthening that shoulder and also recover stamina lost from that cold.
But Bill, Carla, and I had a good time playing. I was +7 for the round. The PCP putting practice did make a difference in my putting although I missed some easy putts once I was pooped out. After we played the three of us used Bill's reel tape measure to get true distances on the back nine. Bill and Carla had already measured the front nine.
The time has come for me to get back in the game. The pinched nerve has improved and I need to strengthen my shoulder and arm. I am on the upswing from this cold so now is the time.
