This weekend we drove down to Pueblo, CO. to play on the "City Park Course", it seems we head down that way every Oct. It was sunny but with a chilly breeze, (weak cold front) but it's such a enjoyable course to play. It's not really a "BIG ARM" course more of a tech. course and that's the kind I like! As an OLD thrower, with heavy arthritis, those courses with 500+ holes are a total waste of time for me. I like courses with tree's, bends, creeks, etc. it makes the game are real challenge. The course is old and being in a city park at bit beat up but it's got cement tees, many have both "pro and am tees". We ended up playing 1.5 rounds (27 holes) and really enjoying the day, Jo's drives are getting much better lately, LOL, I'm about avg., seems like I've hit my level, I'll never be better than middle AM2 or I'll be the the "doormat", (bottom) of AM Grandmaster class, SIGH!
Oh well, even when I'm trying to "compete", I still only play for the FUN of it, the idea of ever "winning" even at a AM2 is just a silly dream and forget the "over 50" AM Grandmaster class, these guys are "lightyears" ahead of me, skill wise, they will "forget" more about DG, then I can learn, LOL, in 7 years I'll be able to play in "Senior Grandmasters" (60 and over) and I'll still be the "doormat"! ;) Get out and throw some plastic, WINTER is on it way!!
Take care, have FUN, Throw Plastic!!
Bogeyman! :)
