02/23/2008 MIDGC (Mt Pleasant, MI)

February 23rd - MIDGC Mt Pleasant:
In the morning, I paired up with John N (Nacho) and we played really well together, both hitting some nice putts and parking some drives. I parked Hole 1 for the CTP and won a disc so that was cool! We ended up 9 under and had the best round. Unfortunately, we hadn't paid for "Stroke Play" due to my ignorance but we did get our $5 back for winning our Match Play.

In the afternoon, I shot 1 under which was tied for the best score with Jeff Coates. I should have hit more putts (as usual) but was happy with this round considering the poor footing (at least a foot of snow on the pads) and my back (yeah, I'm getting old). I won my match for another $5.

Lessons Learned:
1. Always pay for stroke play!
2. Stretch out better prior to playing

I was pretty impressed with all the spreadsheets used to keep track of everything. It was fun to see the college players team up and have a great time. Hopefully, more schools will hear about this and join.
