Tourney 54 occured yesterday, featuring 3 courses and all played in one day, in 8 inches of snow (at least). Started the day leaving my house at 4am to get to the course and have time to warm up, downpours and tons of snow caused an extra hour of driving time, but I wasnt late to the first round. Didn't have time to warm up, but was able to throw a couple shots before going out to our holes. I didn't get to putt. Started off the day with a bogey after a birdie drive, then missed a 20' for birdie on the next hole. Made a great par on the next, and the hole after, before finally carding my first bird. Despite the rain and snow it looked like I might have a good round. Then it started to get worse. Doubley bogey, bogey, bogey mixed with some pars and a couple more bogeys yielded a 63, 11 off the leader. Worst finish on that course in my life by 8 strokes. Disappointing. Came back the second round with a 40' around two trees for par on the first hole, and 60' for bird on the second. Then on the 4th birdied one of the toughest holes on the maple hill elements course, 17 (340 uphill with a 46' elevation change). Had some trouble and some good shots to finish 1 over on that course, not great but good enough to make a movement. Best round was a 51. Last round was silvers at pyramids where I started with a birdie on the second hole, and a huge par save on the third. A couple bogeys at the end and a string of birdies in the middle yielded a 54, moving me to 15th overall, just into the cash. Started the second round in 35th, and finished in 15th good ending to a bad day. Winning score was a 160, I had a 172. Met one of my personal goals (cash in every event this year, yea 1 for 1), and not to give up on myself. Thanks to all that put on the tournament and to those I played with. And to that gold chevy truck on 395 who didnt kill me (or even make contact) when my car did a 540.
