The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Yesterday was Sheila's birthday. As you may know, we're in China until March 24. We visited a cloissone factory, had lunch in a farmers restaurant (two tables total), and visited the Great Wall. That evening, Sheila accomplished one of her trip goals when we went to the Beijing Night Market and ate a skewer of deep-fried scorpions.

I accomplished one of my trip goals when I made several drives along the Great Wall of China. I threw a tie-dyed Buzz, that new disc that Discraft is replacing the Storm with, and a Valkyrie.

Amazingly, I actually landed in bounds on two of the four drives I made. Our Wall guide, "Jumping Deer," was very happy to receive a gift of a disc golf disc and promised that he would recover and use the two discs that I threw which went "over" the wall. (One of them actually hung in the air, downhill, long enough to run out of "spin" and then tumble to the ground.) What fun!

Oh, yeah, they don't waste *anything* here - his eyes were tracking each throw like lasers!

Wow sounds yummy! I lived in Yizeng, China for several months in 2007 and I think the weirdest food for me too see by far was baby chick on a stick that they sold at the market outside of confucius temple in Nanjing. The smell hit me first and the sight second! Enjoy your stay and don't forget to bargain no matter how hard they stomp their feet (long story)! Stomp your feet too!
