It doesn't feel like it's been a month since my last post. That obviously means I've been working WAY TOO MUCH!
PT is going well. I make it to the gym a few times a week, get some heat, ultrasound, massage, do a work out, get some ice/stim and so on ... not as much fun as playing golf, but it's better than watching TV every night (except for LOST which everyone knows is the best TV show ever).
I played a DG course today for the first time in 12 weeks. It was just our little push & putt course here in Carbondale, Bert & Ernie park, but I managed to play 27 holes (with a lot of extra shots), and had a pretty good time doing it. I hit one ACE on hole #7 my third round (Newer Red Aviar P&A, I've got 3 aces on my old orange Aviar P&A), and that felt really good.
Tested a new '08 Orange DX 180g San Marino Roc against an old '86 Red DX 180g San Marino Roc on a few holes. The new San Marino is very nice, and I think a lot of Roc lovers are going to dig this "new" version of the disc. It's a great feeling, great flying disc.
I think the Discmania MD1 is one of the nicest midranges I have ever thrown. Just a really great disc. Highly under rated IMO. I just love throwing the MD1 D line.
If I can manage to get out there and play 6-9 (9 hole) rounds a week for the next few weeks I'll be ready to play in the MHDGC Spring Fling April 5th. I'm registered and will be playing with Peter Shive, Michael Hendler and Larry McCourt, a few of the finest disc golfers I know. It will be my FIRST event playing Pro, so I hope they don't beat me up too bad. i sure am glad we're playing at Johnny Roberts Memorial DG course — there are only a couple holes where I throw a driver — I'm pretty comfortable throwing Rocs/mids and putters on everything else.
Anyway, that's the update! I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and looking forward to more DG ASAP!
