The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Not much going on in my disc golf world. Just a lot of field work over the course of the past few days. I was red hot yesterday on the green. I did the same thing I've been doing for the last week: backhand hucks out, forehand comebackers to the basket, and then putt from the spots the forehands land at. I also added in some work with my mids, backhand out and back both, though some work has been done with Buzzz forehands.

On my third set through, today, I hucked my Destroyer out on a big 350 foot hyzer. And it snagged in one of the pine trees. The field I work in is clear for about 150 feet, and then scattered pine trees, most about 60-75 feet apart. I throw hyzers out wide of them, they're ALL left side of a sidewalk running down the middle (field is 120 feet wide). Anyway, the Destroyer got snagged about 30 feet up. It took about 10 tomahawks with my TeeRex to knock it out and to the ground. Naturally I grabbed it up and set myself for a forehand comebacker.

Threw a straight forehand with some air under it, it faded perfectly... crashed left side chains, fought its way through and caught the right-most chain which sent it falling into the basket. It felt great. All of my forehands in the second and third sets felt great today. Unfortunately my putting was off. Not horribly off, but uncomfortable. It didn't feel like I was getting the right release off of the pitch.

What is interesting, to me, is that I was the same way during basketball tonight. I played for a few hours and I never really felt comfortable. My form felt fine, but I was putting everything off of the inside of the rim and the ball didn't feel like it was coming out of my hands right.

I think I was tentative. Both putting and shooting hoops. I was tentative and thinking back on it, the real issue feels like it was with my wrist. My hand just wasn't snapping through correctly, there was some lag where my arm was snapping out and my wrist was following late which threw everything just a little bit off.

Hopefully tomorrow it'll be a tad better. We'll see, I'm trying to get out to golf in the morning before it gets warm and the snow we're expecting turns to rain.
