The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Well, I think you can expect these progress reports to start coming a little more often ... and I think they might actually have a little more to do with PLAYING disc golf ... rather than thinking about playing disc golf.

The bag of RED discs was out in full force this weekend. Saturday 3/22 I drove over to Palisade CO to catch a group of GVDGC members playing tags. I was a little late, but caught up with the group playing #10. Joined in on #11. Guess I was being pretty lazy on the front 9 (+8). After I joined the group I managed to play the back 9 with only two boggies. I know I probably would have played a little better if I'd made it on time ... I get lazy when I play by myself. Some of those 4/5's were just plain lazyness. Oh well.
Played another 11 holes with Jerry after tags were over (and all the sore loosers left, lol). Bill was nice enough to trade me his #19 for #24. I feel sorry for the sucker who plays tags with him next, LOL. You KNOW that's going to be one heck of a tag match, and someone is going to come out on the short end of that deal. I'm SURE it's not going to be Bill. HA!
Jerry and I had some fun, and I actually birdied a few holes at Riverbend Park before heading back home.

Sunday ... Well the good news is NO PAIN. Felt great. In fact, I was ready for more golf. Drove over to New Castle. Called Jack on the way. We hooked up after my warmup round. The New Castle course is 9 holes of fun golf next to the Colorado River. I think it was designed by JT Laurence. It's a fun course. Still a little rough around the edges, but it's shaping up, and I would guess it's going to be very nice by the end of summer. I like this course because all you really need are a couple of Rocs and you're putter. I was playing OK, but Jack, after an OK warmup round, shot a very nice -8 on his second round. Fun to watch. Great putting!

It's so wonderful to be back out playing. I've missed it a lot. Really looking forward to the MHDGC Spring Fling in a couple of weeks. I'll be working at PT, and playing as often as possible before then!

Stoked to hear you're back on both legs and hukin' it amigo. I'd probably be so excited to be throwing again that I'd blow out an elbow over-doing it. I have a nice little 9-holer near me that I like to play too, it requires a good variety of shots and there's a field next to it for opening up the drivers. TTYL
