Browsing the internet this morning, I stumbled upon a British site with some photos from various tournaments around 1998-2003. Sure enough, among these were photos from my first international tournament - the Belgian Open in Parc d'Amée, Namur 1998 - that year's first tier on the Eurotour South. Here's a couple of the photos that I found:

The finalists from that years tournament. From left to right its Marco Lehousse from Belgium (TD); Kurt Karlson from Sweden; Derek Robins from UK; Søren Larsen from Denmark (hooray!!!); and Sam Nielson also from UK.

Søren Larsen teeing off in the final. Søren didn't win in Namur, but came back with a vengeance later in the season with Eurotour wins in both Berlin Open and British Open. However, Denmark's Karen Olsen won the Women's in Namur.

Søren Larsen, Michael Nielsen and me. Neither Michael or I had been to an international tournament before, but luckily Søren - being our local and touring Euro pro - encouraged us to come along. What a great experience that was!!!
Ahh, the memories...
The photos were shot by Richard Sampson.
