Okay finally a real use for this blog that relates to this site and the love of my life(DISC GOLF, streaking is just a hobby).
So today I went to the IDGC to play some golf and grab a couple DVD's(we dont all have pros at our disposal). I walked into the PDGA meeting, oops. So I smiled and asked if I could go in the proshop and they said go ahead. I walked in, picked out the 05, and 06 worlds. I also grabbed a metal mini. I started looking at discs not to interupt the meeting I milled around and noticed they had a few sets of the Ed Headrick memorial discs with his ashes in them. I picked it up to see the price and then put it back. I then got the proshop guy to ring me up. I asked him the price and he told me. I thought to myself if I had extra cash lying around I would get them but then remembered worlds and a new basket to practice for worlds were more important. I am gonna get a DGA mach-3 anyways so Ed would have probably approved. I paid for my DVDs and mini and my round and set off to play the Steady Ed course first. My round was going alright and then I stepped up to hole 10. I looked at the fairway and decided today was a good time to try and learn controlled forhands again( Hence I grabbed a slightly beat ESP surge instead of a champion firebird). I didnt hesitate, nice smooth very level throw and realized hey that was a great shot. Then I realized it was heading right at the basket. Long story short, one gentle skip and chains and ACE!!!!! It was my tenth ace and it was on the tenth hole of the ED right after looking at the memorial discs. Karma anyone???? So I grabbed a couple phone pics of the tee sign and the empty slot in the bag, and walked down the fairway. As I approached the wonderful site I gave a quick glance and a point upwards to the father of disc golf, though I never met him, he had made my day for the umtinth time.
That was the first ace I had ever gotten with no one around but I am sure someone else had enjoyed it with me. This is just a huge smile I am sending out to everyone who has ever done anything positive for disc golf anywhere in the world. Your work doesnt go unnoticed, and it is appreciated.
Peace Love and Hyzers
