It all started in June of 2006. One day after a lunch meeting my boss at the time ask me if I had ever played Disc Golf. Of course my reply was "You mean Frisbee Golf?". Anyway, we went to a course that happen to be not two blocks from my house. (go figure) I happened to have an old beat up glo roc and my boss lent me a putter. We played a round at this course and I proceed to shoot +5. My boss looked at me and said that I needed to start playing a little bit. "Beginners usually shout around 15 up or so their first time." So I went to our local disc golf store and got a few discs and a starter bag. My boss had also told me about a one day event called "The Great 8". "Sounds interesting" I said. Little did I know that this event was an Iron Man event and that it's name meant you play 8 courses in one day. Start at dawn and end at dusk, if you're lucky! So I did it, played 8 courses in one day and after several lost discs (some borrowed from my boss), lots of blisters, scratches and scrapes, I was hooked on the sport of Disc Golf and have never looked back. Thanks Mark!! (my old boss)
