I got my first ace yesterday. It was kind of under wierd circumstances. I have been having shoulder problems lately, and decided that after playing multiple rounds last weekend, I was going to stick strictly to putting until at least Thursday. I really plan to take off how ever much time I need to get my shoulder completely healed. I talked with my mentor the other day, and he said I NEVER have finished with my shoulder level. I torque it like crazy. We are going to work on that when it gets better.
Anyways, so I went to work on putting yesterday between class and a service project. Mostly 30 and in, but as I got more warmed up, I backed up to about 100 ft. So I was getting kind of bored. I decided to throw the short tees on the hole I was putting on- hole 9 at Bethel University's disc golf course. 167 ft. I throw my putter about 225, and with very good form. I don't torque my shoulder with putter throws. First one I released felt really good. I put a slight hyzer on my Aviar, which is NEVER in my bag during a round of dg. Ironic. I watch it hyzer in and bang! Chains! It was indeed a great feeling, even though no one witnessed it and it was while practicing (not throwing a full round). I quit after that one and called it a day.
I talked to my mentor later and told him about it. His response was "I thought you said NO disc golf." I reminded him putting only. So he still gave me crap for it. It wasn't quite "putting", but I did use my "putter". Haha.
