As the summer disc golf season gets off to its start I have more reasons to be excited! After all, this is to be my season of firsts.
At the Oregon Series kick off event, The Great Northwest Open, I won my first ever trophy at a disc golf tournament and with that got my first ever Oregon Series Script! Along with my first trophy, I was tied for 2nd place, so I also had my first play-off for a trophy!
And there are even more firsts associated with this first event of the season. It was the first time I drove down to Roseburg by myself (and without directions thanks to a previous trip made with Sarah), and the first time I camped by myself. During the tournament I also for the first time played on a card of 2. And although not a first, it was a nice reminder how fun all the disc golf women are, and how great they are to play disc golf with!
I feel that this disc golf season will be a great one to remember, at least for me. I feel like my game has improved tremendously and I keep learning and grow more consistent with each time I play. Second place was a big deal for me. I sort of came from behind in this tournament. After the first round I was in 5th place and trailing 4th by 3 strokes. A speedy second round went by and I moved up to 4th following 3rd by 6 strokes. Then with a great last round I came in tied for 2nd place. I think that this "victory" will give me the confidence to continue to play well.
Watch out all you Intermediate Ladies, I plan to do well this year!
