They’ve put the baskets up at Birch Hill! Finally! It’s our only disc golf course. I got two rounds in this evening. I did horrible. There was a nasty wind blowing that made predicting my shots very difficult and we rarely get a wind in Fairbanks so I’m not used to it. Even short putts were hard to do.
Plus it was still pretty soggy from the winter break-up. Only in certain spot but unfortunately two of those spots were tee pads (if we had actual tee pads instead of two rocks painted white to mark the "Do not cross before throwing line").
Still, don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful to have a course at all. I discovered this great sport on the internet 2 years before we actually got a course and it drove me nuts not having one.
I shot a +12 on my first round and a +10 on my second round. Ouch! But still… the sound of a disc hitting those chains. Heaven! And I did get a birdie on my first round. I can’t wait to go again tomorrow.
Unfortunately my disc golf buddy is on call and driving a company truck for the week so he can’t join me. So I promised him I’d go to his house later in the evening for a barbeque. Tomorrow (today) is going to be a good day. A day off from work, disc golfin’, and a barbeque! Yea!
If only I didn't have to do laundry first. Plus a handful of other chores too. Oh well. Such is life.
