The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
I moved to Florida in August, and had a lot of time to work on my game. My wife Jessica, joined me in November, and we are loving it here. We tend to laugh each time we hear the snow reports back home in Michigan. While we miss our family and friends, we are excited to be in the Orlando area. I am teaching at a great middle school, and will probably never move back to Michigan.
The crew that I have been golfing with are great. It seems to be an exciting time for the Orlando Disc Golf Club, as the leadership has changed, and new ideas are being generated by a great crew. I am sharing some ideas that I picked up by golfing in several Michigan clubs. But the biggest thing the new club needs is enthusiasm, and that is what I am bringing to the club.
It is nice to have plenty of time do practice, and that is a big focus of mine. I have been having some great rounds, but some not so great tournament rounds. Hopefully things will change this season. My only complaint is that all the tournaments in Florida are 2 day B-Tiers. I wish that there were some 1 day events.
The invitation still exists to all of my disc golfing friends to come and visit, especially during tournaments. Escape the cold weather, and come on down. Flights are cheap, and you have a place to stay for nothing.
See you on the course.
