Today began arriving at Pleasant Hill with Dave Townsend (thanks for the bed) and waiting for Beatz to play a round. I finally got online for a moment and rushed some stuff online. No Sprint-Speed here, still not tonight, had to pay for internet access right now can't make a call not even roaming.
Scarborough (Scahhhhhhbouhhhhoogh), ME: Pleasant Hills Gold+Silver (2): I played with Beatz, starting before the course exploded and got packed for the rest of the day. The Gold course is very long, with an 1,100+ foot hole with over pond shot to finish (took a 4). It's almost too open, not much challenge beyond throwing far and in wind, the shorter holes have some good trees and it's designed pretty well for the land it has, old executive golf course. Very well maintained, with the best Pro Shop and amenities I have ever seen. 8$/day though. Dave works inside there..must be hard watching others play all day. The silver course is a Mando course, forcing shots on a mostly open field, testing your bag. Worth checking out overall.
Fairfield- Quaker Hill: This is very well maintained, and they are working on it day by day to make it even better, 9 new holes to come. Played with some locals from the tournament. Schooled me. It's very short, testing all your shots evenly, nothing crazy and it's fair. Have to be pretty smooth to get the 2's, maybe only 1-2 par 4's though. Starts in the open then goes to all woods. Good rubber tees and signs.
Fairfield- Sky Riders: This is in the process of a re-design to add 9 holes to make it 18. It starts off short and deceivingly tough, then gets really tough and long through thick woods. Can't wait to see the final results.
Oh and the car thing..
on I-95 on the way to my hotel there was an upside down car smoking and unrecognizable, with someone hurt but being helped on the grass, no safe way to pull over I called 911 like everyone else, luckily they were on the way and right behind me. I hope that person is ok. It's amazing how a few minutes later everyone speeds back up to 80 and starts tailgating, like they forgot how fragile life is.
Not to mention Beatz rocks! thanks for the Magic and sticker. I found a use for it already, smooth straight 150' holes, especially downhill! Sabattus thursday,,
Thanks Dave for the place to crash, and the guys at 10-UNDER DISC GOLF for the hat that fits!
