Played a tournament in Norwalk, O.H

(#14 wall of tree's hole minus the snow tuesday)

at the great blue heron Disc Golf Course. Weather was around 29 & WINDY! wer'e talking 35+mph gusts with steady 15mph Winds off the water. Around 20 locals showed with 2 of us from Toledo & 1 guy from chicago being the only out of towners. 10 Open players the others scattered in other divisons. Round 1 started at 12:00 with 21 Grueling holes in some miserable conditions. I started off H-O-T! I was getting birdies left & right, throwing Firebirds, Eagles & A Beefy Red Star Wraith. I was doing great until hole #4. It's a super tight 300+ shot to a sharp left turn to the basket another 80+ ft(

. I messed up right off the tee, messed up the upshot & preceded to take a 5.

#5 had winds swirling like a tornado

I managed the hot score of the 21 holes with a -1. My highlight was throwing that wraith on #9 ( I think) a 410ft shot with a gradual downhill slope, with wind howling I cranked one 35 ft short, hit the jumpputt. The other toledo guy I brought with me Ended up winning, we played a final 10 holes and he got hot, still managed a $100 payout so wasn't a total loss. Thanks to the NorwalkDiscGolf Guys! (http://norwalkdiscgolf.org/index.html) They had Meatball Subs at halfway that were out of this world!

I'm hoping my next event will be down in Tiffin, O.H on Jan 12th. Ice Bowl with chili provided. I wanna get an Ice Bowl Disc this year!

Thanks for the ride there Hoyle, and the advice in the car on the way about the mentality the Pros have, it helped me a lot as I took six bogeys in that first round! After those 3 bogeys in four holes (20, 1, 2) I was tempted to go up in smoke. If I hadn't heeded your words I would have.

Congrats on the $100 though to you too, you'll get me next time. Though NOT at Tiffin! Since I'm trying to hit Hudson Mills for THEIR Chili Cookoff that day!
