Furman was knocked out of the SoCon Tournament today and I have a room through tomorrow morning. That left me just enough time to play the 9 holes at Park Circle this afternoon. It is an interesting little course played around the outside of a traffic circle. The terrain is very flat (as is most of Charleston) but it plays through and around a lot of trees and vegetation. But I found it to be at least as interesting as Gower Park and Holmes Park in Greenville.
If I lived in or around Charleston I would be pretty happy to play Park Circle and West Ashley Park both. West Ashley would force me to play very accurately and Park Circle has a few holes that would let me air it out as long as I did that with a little bit of control.
I have seen Trophy Lakes and I know that it is a pretty challenging course. I caddied for Bill one day a couple of years ago when he was playing a tournament and I was passing through town. These three courses give the players here a pretty good choice of play with variety to keep it challenging and interesting.
