I started playing Disc Golf in March of 2007. I quickly became an addict. I've considered my growth in the game to be somewhat rapid. I've been very fortunate to play with and also somewhat get coached by some amazing talent.
Breaking par or even just GETTING par had seemed out of reach. Well, persistance pays off!!! This year I have Par'd 2 seperate courses and set personal bests at 3 different courses in a matter of 2 months. In early spring I finally got Par for the course at Bellevue. Bellevue is not really a tuff course, but I dont get there as much as I used to. I now frequent Kennet Square's BEAUTIFUL course a few times a week on average. Well, about a month ago I found myself with a 10 foot putt for birdie on 18. This birdie would have capped a solid round and secured a 1 under for the course..... needless to say, I missed the putt out of excitement. I left it high and it bounced off. I was still happy with my PAR on the course.
Then, about a week ago, for 1 round it seemed as if everything was coming together. I had again found myself over excited about my score. I had been playing solid golf and closing in on the last 3 holes at kennett and started to feel the pressure to not get any bogies... well, instead of bogies, I did what I didnt even know I could do. I birdied 16, 17, & 18!!!! Whoa! those 3 birds brought me to 5 UNDER!!!!! wow, talk about a high, I was high all day after that! Adreniline had my hads shaking for the rest of the day. So, yeah, I bettered my score by 5 strokes... what a jump... I always say that I'd want to see the gradual improvement... you know 1 stoke at a time... 5 strokes is a big jump. but I'll keep gunnin' for it!
Its amazing how hard it seems to obtain a 5 under score while standing on the tee at 1 seems.... after it was all over, I said "wow, it happened so easy."
