National Champion & Shaving Strokes With the Z-Force

Thanks to all who have congratulations for me. I appreciate it. The last round 53 was without a doubt the best round of golf I have ever played on any course. I woke up on Sunday angry because I knew the very best I could do on the Toboggan was 55, and I knew that was not going to be good enough to catch up. I was very happy, even more surprised, to prove myself wrong.

I am also very glad that I decided to put my player pack Z-Force in the bag for my 2nd and 3rd rounds. This disc helped me execute crucial, clutch 400'+ shots that I needed to play the best round of my life. On Sunday I had 5 birdies throwing the Z-Force, where any other disc would not have made it inside the circle. It was especially helpful on the uphill 755' #17 on Sunday, throwing the Z-Force on both drives, landing inside the circle (!!!!!) and snagging the birdie 3, en route to the hot round by 3 strokes! Only 2 other players in the top 30 took a 3 on 17 on Sunday, and I would bet that I am THE smallest player in the top 30.
I am 5'5", 155 or so and I can bomb this thing over 420' or more, on a HYZER!!! I am super pumped to get to a field and try to start turning it over for some MAX DISTANCE. I am guessing that now I will be able to park the 485' #4 at HM Original at the DGLO this weekend, but I was too tired to practice at all yesterday. This disc is huge and much less nose-angle sensitive than ALL the other extra-wide-rimmed drivers I have tried.
If you can't find one from the Am Nats player packs, I saw some sparkly Z-Forces that will be available as Player's Cup fund raisers. This disc is HUGE and I would not have won without the Z-Force in my bag. I am definitely going to be in the field this summer grooving my Z-Force in preparation for some more clutch 400'+ shots at Rock Hill!!!!!

I know you guys tied but shi Nick was on FIRE before 15. I didn't look at his stats but I'm pretty sure that would have been the round of his life too. You know I got love for the Frosty. You put together a great round. You got that title next year, keep it in MICHIGAN!!!!

Well I don't think anyone wants a playoff to end with an opponent making a mistake like that, but hmm... Before Mark shot, I was feeling very relieved that I made par from the bush on #17. He teed off and hit the tree. I saw where his disc fell and was fairly confident that he would not have a run up from his lie, which meant he had almost no chance at par. I stepped up to the tee next and my caddy (Joe Anttila) stopped me from throwing. He told me "Be patient", which was great advice. I walked back to my bag for some water, thanked him and just tried to concentrate on throwing a nice easy shot that would give me a look at a layup.

HOT! HOT! HOT! Would have been nice to be up there watching a round like that. Huge CONGRATS on taking home the championship. I don't think I'll be making it to Worlds this year but I do plan to make the trip down to USDGC. Perhaps I'll see you down there.

So when you get your Discraft sponsorship would you mind putting me on a list to send a couple of Z-Forces? ;)

Peter, I generally like to throw Z more than ESP with any disc. The flight pattern may be similar to the ESP, but I find that the Z is faster with a very similar amount of glide. I would call the Force mold overstable in all plastics, but moderately so. I can turn over a ESP Surge more easily than a Force, if that gives you a good comparison.
Also, I had just gained some confidence with the Z-Force on Sunday, so I have thrown less than 15 drives with it. I will post up after some field work this week.
