The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I went to Holmes Park tonight. Bill is in Florida taking a river canoe/camping trip with his grandson Logan this week. Steve said that he would come if he got his sleep in and Erica said that she'd be in Saluda. I got there and they had little kids' soccer tryouts going on the ballfield and the parking lot was parked clear full. I had to park along the street. I played a round by myself and Steve was playing #1 when I was teeing off on #9. I threw birdies on 2,5, and 6 but took a double bogey on 4 so I was -1 for the round. Steve and I played 2 more rounds and I was -1 and even on them. I was really struggling to throw my sidearm tee shots since my right shoulder is still very sore. But overall I was okay. So I was -2 after 27 holes.

I found a field to throw on that is pretty close to home and I went out Saturday and threw about 80 hard sidearm tee shots. On Sunday my shoulder hurt very much. On Monday I was still struggling with it. It really bothered me at work. Last night I went back to the field and threw 80 approach shots and 16 tee shots. Today it felt much better but is still pretty sore. Welcome to old age!

I am throwing on the field behind Greenville Middle School. I had gone over there in the past and there was a chain link fence locked so that you couldn't get in. But since they rebuilt Greenville Middle and East North Street Elementary the sports fields and courts are open. They have a good sized field with a four lane track around it, a small ball field, 4 beach volleyball courts, tennis courts, and basketball courts. There is also a field out in front of the elementary school. When I was throwing on Monday there wre a bunch of volleyball teams playing on the sand courts over there. I don't know if it's a regular thing or not. It seemed fairly organized but there were no referees.

I normally throw in the field behind the elementary school by Holmes, and accidentally left a orange Champion Panther in the field there. Really dependable disc too, good fade. If you see it please call 905-1841.
