The tour is going great! I managed to qualify for the PDGA United States Amatuer Championships last weekend on the famed toboggan course in Milford, Michigans Kensignton Metropark. The course is absolutely amazing, incredibly well run event, with meals before & after your rounds, tee times, & tons of extra games & activities.

I by no means thought my game was ready for an event like this, I finished 80th of 101 players. Not great by any means but considering I was the 2nd lowest rated player in the event it was not bad at all. Just qualifying has me rethinking playing in the Recreational division but really, thats where my rating puts me & a few more nice finishes will do good for my confidence. I'll move up for the Indy sanctioned tourney & probably the FTF club championships.

I've learned alot this summer & my game is showing it. I played a round about a month ago with a buddy from FTF that saw my first few tournament runs last year & his question to me was "your game has improved what, about 200% over last fall?" I took alot of flack in St. Louis for playing Rec after shooting a round with some newfound disc friends there & bombing my drives past them all, too bad I can't putt very consistently... Feels good when you pass a group of guys that have been playing for 20 years & they tell the rest of my group to "watch out for this guy he's an up-n-comer." I'm on the way up for sure :)

Financially the tour is taking a toll on me & I might shave off an event here & there to have a weekend at home to relax... and by relax I mean get out & shoot the three doubles rounds we have in Indy every weekend lol. I need a few more poker tourneys to coincide with disc golf up in Michigan!

Illinois again this weekend for the Illinois Open Series #3, gonna try to move up in the standing, think I'm 5th in my division currently. Enough typing... gonna go putt in the backyard.

PDGA ratings updates are next week, my rating went down for the first time after a dismal showing at Bowling Green. That happened to be like the second time I picked up a disc this year & I switched up my putter & putting style since then. Drastic improvement has been shown since then. I've thrown a good number of 900+ rounds after BG Am's including the 943 (highest to date) with an Ace in Ludington. My prediction? 888... stay tuned...
