I'm about to go on vacation for 11 days, 4 of which will comprise the 2008 Tour de Rizbee. For each of the past four years my son and I have done a disc golf road trip where we drive like crazy and play lots of disc golf (www.teamrizbee.com). Last year's trip covered 21 days, 60 courses, 1,000 holes, and 11 states. This year's trip is much shorter but should be pretty exciting. My daughter is joining us this year, and since she's not as interested in disc golf we'll be doing some other activities on our trip as well.
We'll be flying from San Diego to Syracuse, NY to visit my mom for a few days in Rome, NY. Then we head out on the road - 4 1/2 days to cover as much of New England and points between as possible. Possible stops include Hyzer Creek in NY, Sugarbush and Mt. Calais in VT, Pinnacle in NH, Sabbatus in ME, Maple Hills in MA and Wickham in CT. Maybe Warwick on the way back. Much of this may depend on the weather, as it looks like there are thunderstorms forecast for next week. We're also planning on stopping at the Ben & Jerry's factory in VT, L.L. Bean in Freeport, ME, and the site of the former Frisbie Pie Co. factory in Bridgeport, CT. After the road trip it's back to visit mom for 4 more days and then home.
Please drop me a comment here if you have a recommendation for somewhere to play, eat, sleep, etc. We'd also like to play these courses with locals - it makes it more fun!
