The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

It never ceases to amaze me how people sign up to play a tournament. Many players sign up in the appropriate divisions based on their skill level. But there are those that continue to sign up in a division that they have long since surpassed. I guess it makes people feel good to win and dominate a division without being too competitive. The problem I have with the whole issue is that local TDs need to keep up with how people are scoring and "strongly encourage" these baggers to move up. Don't continue to allow these baggers to bag. Its not fair to those players that are appropriately signing up and are never able to win because of baggers. BAGGERS BEWARE, WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

I agree. That is part of the reason for my new tournament philosophy: Have fun!! I am playing in what I believe is the appropriate division for myself, not because of scores but based on how long I have been playing. but there are others in the same division who are consistantly(sp) throwing at par or below in the same division. Since I know in advance that I will not be winning anything (except at Sloan maybe) I am there to hang out with friends and play some golf. I am not saying these people are bagging; one, two or even three tournaments throwing like that are not baggers; but if over a six month period you are consistatly first or second you should move up. You may get your ego hurt because you are at the bottom of the pros but chances are you wont stay there long. Plus, since the whole LDGA Points race is based on scores and not division you are not going to cost yourself any points.
