I really like Ice Bowls!!

Well, I'm 2 for 2 at Ice Bowls his year. Last week I won the Ice Bowl at Ford Park in Redlands, CA in a sudden-death playoff. Today was the Ice Bowl at Sun Valley Golf Course in La Mesa, CA, and I won the Advanced division, one stroke ahead of three other players and another stroke ahead of two more. The highlight of the day for me was playing on the lead card in the second round with my son, AJ. It was the first time we had ever been on a lead card together and I was very proud of the way he played - he won the card in the second round, snagged my good bagtag and almost caught me (I beat him by two overall). Of course there were mulligans involved, but I used no more than the rest of the field, but maybe I made better use of mine. ;) It's been 20 years since I was this competitive - it's about damn time!

Randy Wylot did a great job of TD-ing his first tournament and we raised a good pile of cash and canned food for the San Diego Food Bank. If you haven't played in an Ice Bowl this year, go find one!!

BTW, temperature for today's La Mesa Ice Bowl - 70 degrees...
