The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Last night I was all over the discgolfreview.com forum talking about turnover Rocs, and 10x rocs just trying to get a feel for what kind of kc roc would turn a little more for me, I seem to have a bunch of superhuman stable 11x's that only beat into dead straight or hold the line you put on them. I'm not complaining, but I don't like dx and need a turnover midrange. Anways after finding someone to trade for 2 used 10x's I had a pm in my inbox from a JR that was just titled "hi". It wasn't the person I was trading with, and I couldn't remember ever meeting anyone named JR in my travels. It turns out that he was from finland, and had seen the '05 MSDGC DVD which I was lucky to be featured in. I wont get into the details but he praised me for my play. It got me thinking. As I mentioned in my last blog (or rather my first becauses I have never kept a blog before) I met my current girlfriend because her boss showed her that DVD. Now I am getting personal messages from people across the pond who were (hopefully) inspired my play and the work I put into my game, 2 and half years later. Disc Golf has blessed me. And once I have some extra money I can donate, Maple Hill will be the recipient. Thank you to the folks at Marshall Street.

I've tried a couple of 11x KC Rocs, and agree, they seem to be more overstable when new. 10x seem to break in a little faster, and just fly straighter with less fade when new.
It STILL takes quite a while to break a 10x KC Pro into a turnover disc though.
I'm not giving up on the 11x's though, because I think that "when" they do break in, they may last a lot longer than a 10x. It's just a theory at this point. I have a feeling it's going to take a lot of beating to get the 11x to fly straighter and much, much more to get it to flip.
I started throwing the Discmania MD1 SG last summer, and I think it's going to be a good turnover disc, in better plastic. Not a Roc, but still a pretty good disc. Before I broke my leg, I was breaking in some Star Sharks. Definitely an underrated disc IMO.
