The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I showed up at Lakewood on Sunday morning to run the acepot. With the chilly weather and two big football games on TV I didn't know if anyone would show up or not. As it happened there were eight of us that showed up ready to play so we decided to play 27 holes of doubles instead of the customary two rounds of 18. We each put in $10 and played in one large group. We followed the same format as the 27 hole layout that I put together last summer for the Solstice Acepotapalooza! In the end Gordy and Jeff B. won $15 each with a -8, Brian H. and Aaron H. came in second one stroke behind and each recouped 90% of their entry fee. Toby and Brewster were one more stroke back and Eric and Neil finished at -4. There were a couple of close runs at the $300 acepot but no one hit metal today. As always it was a pleasure to spend a few hours out chucking plastic with a good group of golfers. The weather had started out looking a little bleak but everyone's mood improved along with the weather as the day wore on. And we still got home in time to watch a bit of football!
