The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
This is the home course of 12-time world champion Ken Climo, and it's a gorgeous one! The park's claim-to-fame is probably #10, right alongside Moccasin Lake. I lost a yellow Champion Sidewinder in this lake, and I gave it up for lost. If you can't throw across this lake to the basket, you RHBHers had better plan your hyzer well.
The front nine is mostly under the canopy of oaks, and makes for a pleasant first half. Then, you cross the street to the back nine, and here's hole #10. There is a fair amount of water hazardry on the back nine, but somewhere along the line I completely missed #16. On the way back I passed a fella who was teeing off of #10, and he told me the story on 16: apparently it's a fairly treacherous water hazard, not well marked, and it might be just as well that I didn't try it. All I needed was to lose more plastic. Then he whips out a disc catching device and we spot my Sidewinder in the water and he manages to fish it out! Totally cool.
I'll play here again, and maybe I'll run into Ken there someday.
