On the same day I played Cliff Stephens DGC, I followed up with a run through NE Coachman, which is less than a mile away and accessible by walking from Cliff Stephens, if you're of a mind to walk the ways it takes. I drove, but then I am usually on some sort of time budget when I get to go out of town, so...

There were a fair number of people at Coachman that day, compared to the one guy I met at C.S., but it was later in the day. Most of the course runs under the pine tree-and-oak canopy that covers most of the park, and conveniently enough hole #18 ends up right back at the parking area. I had just picked up a QuestAT Raging Inferno Ultralight 130g (with the dimple technology); I'd heard that this disc doesn't float, but I can tell you that it does: along hole #8 runs a creek, swift-moving from the recent rains, and the UL went into it. I had to chase it downstream! With such a shallow creek I could have retrieved it easily enough had it sunk, but the thing floats!

Coachman was the first course I made a birdie on, at hole #18. Sweet. After my initial drive through the pines, my second hail mary throw arced right around a curving line of trees and CHING! And I had witnesses.
