Back in Pheonix for the 4th time disc golf related.
Lost a disc on my 3rd hole of the day! After driving across a desert for 6 hours with no A/C, I wasn't much up to even getting out of the car, let alone throwing.
Phoenix (Tempe), AZ- Moeur:Scrappy desert land, with short bushes, cacti, and all rock fairways, no grass. It will shred your plastic, and there's a wash that was fast moving and I lost a drive that landed under a basket in it. Somewhat blind and hard to navigate, nearly impossible to find the dang thing! I tried in 2006 and failed to even find the course! Someone needs to do something about that. There are a new 9 holes across the street, but they are unmarked and literally impossible to navigate right now, I tried. Cement tees on front. Not really worth chucking at except as a novelty, especially if you value your plastic.
Phoenix (Mesa), AZ- Emerald:Almost entirely wide open, without any real chance of hitting a tree. Lone palms on small hillsides circling a drainage pond in the middle of a grassy park. Well maintained. Grass tees somewhat muddy or have water in them/covering them. Poorly marked save for new tee box corner markers which made it possible to play. Long, with a few well over 400' and an option to play backwards for 18 holes. A fence comes into play, with a cement ditch full of water on the other side of it.
