The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I have an 11x ROC that had a green stamp had no metallic in it, just a flat green. Then I tried to wipe the stamp off like I do on all my discs and instead of coming off entirely, it left a minty green tint of a stamp. It's now one of my favorite discs in my bag. Sure its one of those dimple/nipple top ROCs that fly like 8x's or 10x's, whichever people claim they are, but I'm not sure that its that which makes it one of my favorites. The reason it is one of my favorites is because of what happened to make it that way. It seems it behaves every time I throw it, and has been a typical (dead straight and drop) ROC for the longest time. Another one of my favorites is a proto warlock. Team members got sent them xmas of 06' I beleieve, its blank and max weight. Its firm but not slick in the slightest. It has no stamp and I havent ever found any like it. The ones I got afterwards just weren't the same. It was the first time I got a proto disc as a GDS team member. Both of those discs instil confidence and both are staples in my bag now. The warlock has been my putter for a year now and IDK what I am going to do when I have to replace it. The ROC is going to be in the bag until its breaks in half. I think thats the reason why people will pay $300 for a 01 Roc, or $150 for a first run CE disc, because they may be great flyers but they also have nostalgic value. I wonder when the next disc that is in this list will find its way into my bag.

im with you man, mine is a gummy beast like the one i got my 1st ace with, my 1st ace beast is a wall hanger now in my office but fortunately my buddy hooked me up with another gummy beast to replace it and it has been my goto disc for most of my backhand drives for a couple years now, i have many other beasts but none fly like it does, so if i loose it in a pond or walk away and forget to pick it up like another of my once favorite discs ( favorite z buzzz mid ) replacing it would be tough

Man, I hear ya. I just lost an old DX Roc that someone gave me [broke in half after CO States]. That was the sweetest turnover Roc I owned. It's sad to loose such a great disc. It might be a couple of years before another takes it's place.
