The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

For those who are confused by reading my things with DGG and DGGA... and have not found my definition or site link, DGG = Disc Golf Guild; DGGA = Disc Golf Guild Association.

My constitution is as follows (currently):

Our purpose is to assist students in meeting each other with the common interest in the sport of disc golf. To continually promote the sport throughout the campus and through friends.

Anyone who expresses interest in the sport of disc golf may join the guild. We do not have restrictions on member’s skill levels; we are all here to have fun. All members must follow the rules if they wish to participate with the guild’s functions.

~Members must show effort in participating in the guild. This includes, but not limited to, guild meetings, outings, promoting the sport, and voting procedures.

~We want to keep a positive atmosphere in the guild, please encourage one another out on the course. Down talk towards another member may result in disciplinary action decided by the officers.

~Our guild does not allow members to litter on courses, please respect nature as well. Volunteers are encouraged to bring bags to pick up loose garbage. Help make this world a cleaner place.

~There is no required minimal attendance to guild outings or events. The only thing members are expected to do is properly represent the guild, promote the sport, and keep in contact with fellow members.

~ Members must respect one another; there is a zero tolerance policy with racist language, over excessive foul language, and anything the officers may feel does not belong.

Ranks consist of three (3) Guild Masters, two (2) Relations Officers, one (1) Recruiting Officer at this time. Each member that has a rank holds more responsibility then a member within the guild, and must perform to certain standards to keep their position.

Guild Masters:
The guild masters consist of the guild’s founders. These 3 members over-look the whole guild and make sure that the officers are doing their job. Guild Master’s do not have absolute power, they to must vote on issues.

Relations Officers:
The relations officers are responsible for planning outings with members. Each officer must keep track of member’s schedules to plan accordingly, and are also responsible for resolving small disputes.

Recruiting Officer:
The recruiting officer goes through the school promoting the sport and proving growth to the guild. A recruiting office may also assist in the planning of events and outings for the guild.

More positions may be added later on, when necessary.

Elections and Voting

Everyone apart of the club is able to vote on matters. All changes to the constitution must be voted upon. Elections may take part in one of two ways, or a combination of the two. The first way is by attending a meeting that is called. If you are unable to attend, please check the Facebook group “We Love 2 Frolf” for details from the meeting and for your chance to vote. Always notify a guild master if you are unavailable to attend. For members who do not utilize Facebook, please provide the guild with your school email address.

If there is something a member would like to add or change in the guild, they may write up a request with a reason why. The officers then will look over the request and determine whether or not the request is a valid one. If the officers feel it’s worth being voted upon by the members, or if enough members express interest, the issue will be presented for the members to vote on with a certain time frame.

Responsibilities of Officers

All officers are responsible for attending at least one guild meeting a month to check the progress of the guild. Extra meetings may be held for officers only, these meetings will be mandatory if disciplinary action is required of a member. Meetings may be held online via the use of Facebook.

( This may be adjusted before the club is approved )

I'm welcoming comments, I'm open minded to suggestions, please help me out since I am a newb to the sport! I hope everything runs smoothly, and things go well with member participation.

Anyways, that's all for tonight, I'm exhausted from working the Harley festival down in Milwaukee for the last couple nights!!! Time for shut eye so I can spend time with my man tomorrow. :-)
