So for those who have never chated with me or talked to me before, Im am a part time high school football scout for ESPN during football season.
Well last night I had an assignment to scout a certain player in Griffin, GA and I had a great game.
A little background on the teams that played last night. They are in a small town and there isnt a lot of money to go around either. Both teams/schools share a football field that is located in the county and have for 60 years. Well, they havent played one another in 47 years until last night.
There was pregame tailgating and a 1000 person line an hour before the game started. Of coarse, though, me being a member of the great ESPN !!!! LOL I didnt have to wait in line to get in or into my press box. I got treated like a god down there, free food and program. One person offered to buy me a jersey if Id wear it while I watched the game, but I couldnt do that.
My target had a great game two. Showed a lot of speed and got into the endzone 3 times.
This week was so much better than last weeks game, where sadly, my target didnt show much and you could barely find a real fan in the house.
I dont want to sound rash, It was no Massillon-McKinley, but for a small town they showed they love their football and I think they should be commended.
