About a year ago I moved out to the suburbs of the DFW area. I love being a home owner, and out of the apartments.
Now that I am settled in I have decided to make Disc Golf one of my primary forms of exercise. Here is where the blessing/curse kicks in. There are plenty of courses in the DFW area to play in, and when I lived in the city I was maybe 10-15 minutes away from a couple of courses. Now that I have moved out to the burbs I am about 25-35 minutes away from 5-6 courses. So while the overall trip is longer, the selection is much wider.
I am still trying to figure out if I want to view this as a half empty or half full situation. Personally I am pretty new to the sport so I wish I was a bit closer for more regular practicing.
In the mean time I picked up a Mach Lite basket for use in my backyard, but plan on taking it out to some local parks. This should let me get some practice in, and get my dog out for a walk too :).
So would you rather be right next to a couple of courses, or about 30 minutes away from 5-6?
Also if anyone has a mach lite, do you have any good practice routines you run?
