I aced on Saturday, it wasn't my first ace but it has been quite a while. after a almost three year drought following a 7 ace year in 2006, I finally hit one. It was however my first ace in league or tourney play and cashed in the winter leagues ace pool for $46. It was also my first ever cross-body ace, after learning to throw cross-body over the past 2 1/2" years I was slowly losing hope I would ever ace again, while scores have greatly improved over that period I was wondering if I had traded my ace possibilities for extra sure birdies. Until the curse was broken, it came during one of the worst of my rounds of the season, I had drawn the worst of the possible partners and we got through the front nine at a awful +2. We finally got our second deuce on 12 and missed a easy 2 putt on 13 taking a par, then on 14 we were BOB, so everyone threw with a couple nice runs and subsequent park jobs, my partner steps up and throws a soft hyzer that faded early leaving a long deuce putt. so I'm feeling some pressure, I reach in my bag and grab my 09 champ roc that I got at fly-mart at worlds this year and rip a nice soft straight shot at the basket. It looks nice to start but I left it a little left at about 75 feet the spin takes over and it flattens out and starts turning a little..... looking better now.... and then it reaches its crest at about 180' and about 35' in the air.....it starts to fade..... I think shit, its going in. By this point we are all quiet and just staring at it as it drops slowly with a little fade and crashes the chains dead center, the group explodes but i dont move... I just stand there and wait to makes sure it stuck. It did, I start screaming and high fiving everyone. I'm so excited I dont even remember the ace pool until the next hole when somebody mentions it, I get an ear to ear grin that lasted until the end of the round.
