The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Even though I didn't get to play (takin it easy on the shoulder), I had a blast last weekend. It was my first visit to the Lodge in Pawhuska, OK; wow, what a place!

There were some pretty bad storms rolling through Kansas and Oklahoma Friday evening, so I postponed my journey down south as long as I could stand to. I almost waited until Saturday morning to drive down, but the cooler was already full of beer, I was all packed and ready to go, so why wait? I needed to work on my driving in the rain at night skills anyways.

I was greeted by a group playing poker in the clubhouse. Geiger, my host for the weekend, wasn't doing so good with the poker situation. I watched & drank some beers for awhile as he continued his losing streak. Finally, he was ready to buy in again, so I thought I'd give it a try (I'm not an avid poker player). Apparently that's all Geiger needed; he started winning & before I knew it, most of the chips were sitting in front of him. Britney Spears (my dog) was a big hit with the guys too.

I walked with Geiger's group both days. These are 2 awesome, scenic courses; I look forward to actually playing them next time I head down. As always, I met some more totally awesome disc golfers, and ran into some that I haven't seen for while. I can't say enough about how much I LOVE this game; its always GOOD TIMES, on or off the course.

I gotta give some shout-outs: thanks Jeremy, for letting me tag along, thank you Deb for the great food, & Billy Juby, for savin me & Britney a long walk back to the campsite. It was great to see and meet everyone. I'll definitely be back.

Peace, Love & Disc Golf
