What a change in weather! Last weekend we had 4.5" of rain ending in 4" of snow Sunday night. It was cold Monday ( for South Carolina) through Wednesday, but today it was pushing 80 degrees. I met Bill and Carla at 10 this morning to play in Greer. Bill and Carla have done a ton of work on the course there. I have helped a time or two, but those two are out there nearly every day working on this and that. They've put two walk bridges across the creeks, built three sets of steps, and cleared out undergrowth and greenbriars in area after area. Once the signs are in and the area starts to green up the course will be looking pretty good. I bought a new Champion Roadrunner from Bill and it worked pretty well for me.
We played two rounds today - a regular round followed by a single disc round. In the first round I was +1 on the front 9 and the wheels came off on the back at +9 to card a 64. I birdied #5 and should have birdied 8 and 9. I nearly aced 16 but when it flew by the chains, it really flew by. The second round I was +4 on the front and back both to card a 62. Bill also scored better with a single disc than in the regular round. We both thought that was odd.
After we played the three of us went over to the 5th tee box to take measurements for Bill to build a retaining wall. Bill will design it in autocad then build it and and install it.
We played a single disc round to see what we needed to play in the single disc tournament there in two weeks. Greer is going to use this tournament as an opportunity to officially open the park. I played my round with my new Roadrunner, but I will use a Valkyrie to play the tournament.
