Bear Creek existence

Anyone who enjoys playing at Bear Creek Grapvine TX needs to attend a meeting at the course Feb 6. I think it said 10 AM. The director of parks has said the courses existence is at stake. I would hate to see this course go, it is one of the best in the DFW area. I drive 25 miles right by 4 courses just to go play Bear Creek cuz its the funnest. I don't know much about the meeting but this is what I do know,,,The residents in the area have complained and Parks Director David Evans has posted signs throughout the course that say they need sponsors to help maintain the course and develop it to be a park that the area residents are proud of. I'm not sure if they want money from us, or just help cleaning at the course.. I gotta admit, the course is trashed and needs alot of work.. such as fill dirt around the tee boxes, bridges across the creek and lots of trash pickup.. Everyone this is our chance to make this course great again, please show up and show some support... I don't know if emailing the parks director will help but here is his address.. [e-mail]

it's becasuse of a select people who they think and drink and smoke and then treat the people who live on course like shit they just need to grow up show some respect and don't ruin it for the people who really care about this course!

I played Bear Creek back when, I think, it had just gone from 9 to 12 holes. Nice course. I can imagine conflicts with other park users, though. Sure hope this works out.

looks like your forum post got bumped. I'll tell ya i'm bummed about not being able to be there saturday due to a tournament. i've been waiting for an opportunity like this so that i could speak and be an ambassador to the sport, ...........and save this course i love so much.
